MERCEDES-BENZ SERVICE

What’s the Mercedes-Benz Master Guild?

Two of only 40 members nationwide are in Sarasota!

Mercedes-Benz is among an exclusive club of well-built, reliable vehicles in an ever-evolving market – and its forward-thinking German engineering has quite an extensive history. Technicians must be specifically certified to conduct maintenance on these cars to ensure quality care and service, which German Cars of Sarasota prides itself in providing to clients for more than four decades.

The highest certification offered by Mercedes-Benz is its Master Guild Recognition Program, which rewards outstanding dealership employees and immerses them in the rich heritage of German manufacturing. The Master Guild is an exclusive club comprised of the top 40 master technicians in the U.S. – and the only two people to hold this prestigious title in Sarasota, Ron and J.V., now operate German Cars of Sarasota. To add perspective, achieving master technician status, a group of roughly 4,000 specialists nationwide, requires five years of work on Mercedes-Benz vehicles and high scores during annual testing.

Master Guild members are also treated to a one-week, all-inclusive trip to Stuttgart, Germany – the headquarters for Daimler AG, which is the parent company of Mercedes-Benz. Members tour test tracks, engine plants and explore the coveted AMG factory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can service your Mercedes-Benz, especially in the first year of ownership. For vehicles with 20,000 miles, a Mercedes-Benz Service B visit is necessary. Higher mileage vehicles and older models are best serviced by a master technician.

Servicing your vehicle yourself will require you to register the service that was performed. Failure to do this will cause the ASSYST PLUS to display a “Past Due” indicator on the dash display. These error messages can affect your warranty as well as the resale value of your vehicle.

On-going service costs vary widely based on the age and model. Mercedes-Benz says owners should budget between $600 and $1,200 annually for Mercedes maintenance. Contact us to find out what you can expect to pay for your next service.

Service Codes:
About a month before a service is due, you’ll see one of the following messages in your dash display:

Next Service A in ## days
Next Service A in ### miles

The letter following “Service” will change between A, B and C depending on your vehicle’s age and mileage. For example, after 20,000 miles you’ll see a code for Service B. Then, about 16,000 miles later, you may see a code for Service C.

If a service interval is missed, the ASSYST PLUS on your display panel will let you know how past due the service is:

Service C exceeded by ## days
Service C exceeded by #### miles

In general, Service A is first required at 10,000 miles or one year. Service B is required at 20,000 miles or two years, and Service C is recommended at around 36,000 miles.
